First off, no, I’m not seriously making this suggestion for this game. I doubt SE would ever choose to do something like this and I’m not sure it would go over well with the rest of the community.
My husband and I had talked about it a few weeks ago and the idea has been swirling around in my head, intriguing my thought cells.
So the idea is basically, a player would pay $50-ish dollars for access to a Premium server(s). They’d get a more involved GM team that would run events and provide proprietary content. Maybe the dungeons wouldn’t get nerfed. The community would be restricted to the cream of the crop that are willing to pay that kind of money for that kind of VIP experience. Maybe even have more support for raid groups.
My husband thought the idea would work better as a sort of integrated thing on the regular servers which I couldn’t understand and just found to be unfair. For me, it would have to be entirely separate really. Otherwise, it’s like flaunting privilege at the poor… which makes me feel a little meh.
But, if I could afford it, I think I’d pay for something like that in a game. The only one I know of that does it is DragonRealms which is a text-based game. But it seems to work for them in that context.
What do you think? Would you be willing to pay for something like that? What would a company have to add/restrict/do to get you to support such a concept?
